Dr. Derek Plausinis

Derek Plausinis is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty interest and training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He contributes to providing adult and pediatric orthopaedic trauma care at Kelowna General Hospital. After completing a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of British Columbia, he spent a one year fellowship studying Shoulder and Elbow surgery in New York City at NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases. He practiced in Kamloops for 9 years, and has been in Kelowna since 2013.

He treats a number of complex shoulder and elbow problems from throughout the Interior, and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC. He is involved with medical student and resident teaching, and also participating in a research study with UBC.
