This cosmetic procedure can be used to:

- Improve your overall health and self confidence

Your Complete Guide to Liposuction Recovery
Before you undergo a liposuction procedure, you must remember that every patient’s journey will be different. This includes pre and post-surgery and recovery is often very specific to the patient and will vary in terms of the:
- Treatment area and the number of treatment areas
- Type of anesthesia used
- Type of body contouring technique used
- Patient’s level of pain tolerance
4 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT LIPOSUCTION
Liposuction Recovery Time: What You Can Expect
Keeping in mind that a liposuction recovery period can vary from patient to patient, you can typically expect the following:
1. 2-3 Days After Surgery: During this period, you may have some discomfort which can be managed using pain medication. Your surgeon may suggest you wear a compression garment and you’ll be advised to avoid unnecessary physical activity.
2. 3-5 Weeks After Surgery: Your pain should have subsided by now and your results should be visible. However, having some bruising and/or swelling in the treatment area is quite normal. Most patients may return to light-moderate exercise, but high impact activity must be avoided.
3. 6 Weeks Onwards: It’s likely that all bruising and swelling has subsided and that your results will be fully visible. You won’t need the compression garment anymore and you can talk to your plastic surgeon about resuming full physical activity.
7 Tips For a Fast and Safe Liposuction Recovery
One of the most important things you can do for your health and safety after a liposuction procedure is to follow your plastic surgeon’s post-surgery instructions. This includes booking follow up appointments and:
- Avoiding blood-thinning drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen.
- Staying home and getting plenty of rest.
- Staying hydrated.
- Sticking to a healthy and nutritious diet.
- Doing some light exercise, such as walking slowly around your home or block.
- Wearing your compression garment to reduce pain and discomfort.
- Avoiding swimming pools, hot tubs, and baths during your recovery period.
